One way that schools and colleges can promote gender and race equality is by encouraging students to consider non-traditional career choices.

The Redress the Balance Project aims to promote and support the uptake of non traditional courses by providing guidance and information and sharing good practice.

The project has focused particularly, but not exclusively, on men entering health, social and child care, women entering construction and engineering and BME students entering the police force.
